unbeatable banzuke

26 02 2009

I love Japanese shows where there isn’t really supposed to be a winner. Of course, every now and then, someone amazing comes along (like in this clip) and rocks it, but you know that the guy who designed the course felt so dishonored that he went home and commited ritualistic sepuku that night and the next day his replacement came in and designed a course ten times harder.

Stuff like this would never fly in the US. We need a winner! If there’s no winner then people’s feelings get hurt. Furthermore, when one person is the winner and everyone else isn’t, feelings get hurt. We can’t have that! In fact we’re all winners! Yay! Let’s go get pizza and talk about sportsmanship!

Keep your eyes out for Easily Beatable Banzuke, coming to the US any day now.
